ST. PAUL JUBILEE MASS: It is with great joy that we welcome our Bishop to our faith-filled community of Saint Paul’s. The Bishop comes to us on this pastoral visitation in honor of the Year of Saint Paul. We are very blessed to be the only parish in the entire Diocese of Buffalo dedicated to Saint Paul. This Sunday at 3PM we will gather around our Bishop at the Altar of Word and Sacrament, never more as Church, to celebrate the gift to the universal Church- Paul, a man from Tarsus. We thank Fr. Paul Steller, the Pastor of St. Mary’s in Lancaster for being the guest homilist. We look forward to his very thoughtful reflection of the life of Saint Paul. I pray that we will have a turn out for this Mass. There will be plenty of parking available for all. The Ladies Sodality has prepared a bountiful reception for after the celebration of the Mass and for them we are very thankful. I hope to see all of you there!
JOSEPH DUREPOS, AUTHOR OF A STILL A MORE EXCELLENT WAY: HOW ST. PAUL LEADS US TO JESUS: will be here on Thursday, November 20th at 7PM in the Church for a very dynamic and powerful multimedia presentation on the life, mission and message of St. Paul. This is one you don’t want to miss! Watch for the Bulletin insert for more details in the coming week or simply refer to our parish brochure on all the Year of Saint Paul festivities! Copies of his book can be purchased through the rectory at a bargain price of $10. Please call Zach Presutti with any questions.
RITE OF ACCEPTANCE: At the 10AM Mass next Sunday, November 23rd it is with great joy that we will welcome five individuals who will be taking their first step in becoming full members of the Roman Catholic Church through the Rite of Acceptance. “The rite that is called the rite of acceptance into the order of catechumens is of the utmost importance. Assembling publicly for the first time, the candidates who have completed the period of the precatechumenate declare their intention to the Church and the Church in turn, carrying out its apostolic mission, accepts them as persons who intend to become its members” (RCIA, 41). I hope that you will be there to share in celebrating with us on this day at the 10AM Mass. It will be at this Mass that the candidates will start to be dismissed from Mass following the conclusion of the homily. Many people wonder were these people are going as they leave in the middle of the Mass… no it is not that we are bored and decided to stomp off in protest. The RCIA process calls for the candidates who have not received their FIRST HOLY COMMUNION to be dismissed prior to the celebration of the Liturgy of the Eucharist. It is at this time that those who are candidates for full reception into the Church will be dismissed to the Conference Room of the school to gather with some very dedicated members of our parish to Break Open the WORD OF GOD, so as to help the candidates understand and reflect on how God is working in their life through the Sunday readings that are proclaimed at Mass. Please continue to keep Kristin McGinnis, Deena Blendowski, Stacey Adams, Darren Nye, and Jessica Stockmeyer in your prayers as they journey and respond to God’s grace to become full members of the Christ’s Church.
May God continue to Bless You and Saint Paul Pray for Us!
Mr. Zach Presutti
